Flying at cost, not at retail
MAFC is a 501(c)(7) non-profit. No taxes, no salaries, no profit margin — members share five aircraft and split the real cost of keeping them flying. That changes everything about the math.
Honest rates
$89–$100/hr Hobbs dry across the fleet (about $144–$155 wet, depending on fuel prices), set by the Board to cover actual costs. Monthly dues of $80 cover insurance, tie-downs, and the clubhouse.
Insurance included
Liability and hull coverage under the club policy — no renter's insurance to buy, ever. Fly within FAA and club rules and you're covered.
Real availability
Online scheduling through Flight Circle, a deliberately capped membership, and five airplanes. Weekend trips and overnights are normal here, not a negotiation.
A community, not a counter
Monthly meetings with safety seminars, fly-outs, wash-and-wax days, a newsletter since 2012 — and member instructors open to new students.

From honest $89 Skyhawks to a G1000 glass cockpit and a composite Diamond — maintained by FAA-certificated technicians and watched over by member crew chiefs. Rates are dry; wet cost varies with the club's fuel price.

Membership starts with two meetings — not paperwork. Come to a general meeting, drink our coffee, meet the people, and let a member walk you out to the airplanes.
- General meeting: 3rd Saturday of every month, 9:00 AM — CAP Building, Lakewood Airport (N12)
- Board of Trustees: first Thursday of every month, 7:00 PM — MAFC clubhouse
